PROSPECTIVE FAMILIES OPEN HOUSE
At Greengates, we are committed to creating an environment where every child feels valued and respected. Our school is more than just a place of learning; it is a vibrant community of families, united by the belief that our diversity is a source of strength and something to be celebrated.
To further support these school values, we have several initiatives planned in the coming weeks. As part of our ‘Wellbeing Week’, students will engage in activities that promote wellbeing, kindness, and inclusivity. We will also hold assemblies this term focused on equality, diversity and inclusion, where we will celebrate the variety of cultures, backgrounds, and experiences within our school community. These assemblies aim to promote understanding and encourage students to reflect on the importance of respecting and embracing differences.
We would like to ask for your support in reinforcing these values within your family at home. A few ways you can help are:
Greengates recognises the important role that the partnership between home, school, and child plays in shaping our community. The ‘triangle’ of support between parents, educators, and students is essential in fostering a culture of respect, kindness, and inclusivity. We are grateful for your ongoing commitment to reinforcing these values at home and for helping us create an environment where every child feels valued and understood.
Greengates Academic Team
As Educators, we are continuously striving to improve practice and one of the most effective ways that we can do this is through collaboration with others in our profession. This October, we had seven teachers visit Greengates from the British School, Rio to observe the teaching and learning in the primary school. The visit came as a result of a recommendation from our accreditation body, the International Curriculum Association (ICA), who have recognised Greengates Primary as a school of best practice.
Last week, our Performing Arts teachers, Victor Lopez (Drama) and Hadiya Morris (Music and Drama), attended a regional Americas course in Panama focused on the Juilliard K-12 Curriculum.
