PROSPECTIVE FAMILIES OPEN HOUSE
On Thursday, the 25th of January, Greengates School witnessed a burst of creativity and entrepreneurial spirit as Year 12 students took the spotlight at the 2024 Entrepreneurship Fair. The event served as a practical application of their business, marketing, and entrepreneurship skills and showcased their classroom learning.
The students seamlessly integrated theoretical concepts into practice, using business strategy methods and the psychology of image and colour. From creating compelling slogans and logos to designing advertisements, leaflets, brochures, flyers, business cards, and even packaging, every detail reflected their dedication.
The diverse range of products, including food, candles, bookmarks, fragrances, bracelets, accessories, and jewellery boxes, highlighted the students' creativity and hands-on approach to learning.
Beyond the excitement of entrepreneurship, the fair had a philanthropic twist. All proceeds from the event went not only to the students' graduation party but also to the CAS programme to plant trees in deforested areas. This dual-purpose initiative demonstrated the students' commitment to both celebration and environmental responsibility, making the Greengates Entrepreneurship Fair a remarkable success.
At Greengates, we are committed to creating an environment where every child feels valued and respected. Our school is more than just a place of learning; it is a vibrant community of families, united by the belief that our diversity is a source of strength and something to be celebrated.
As Educators, we are continuously striving to improve practice and one of the most effective ways that we can do this is through collaboration with others in our profession. This October, we had seven teachers visit Greengates from the British School, Rio to observe the teaching and learning in the primary school. The visit came as a result of a recommendation from our accreditation body, the International Curriculum Association (ICA), who have recognised Greengates Primary as a school of best practice.
Last week, our Performing Arts teachers, Victor Lopez (Drama) and Hadiya Morris (Music and Drama), attended a regional Americas course in Panama focused on the Juilliard K-12 Curriculum.
