PROSPECTIVE FAMILIES OPEN HOUSE
We are gearing up for the biggest celebration of the year! On Saturday, 9th of March from 10am to 5pm we will be enjoying the 45th Greengates International Fair, an amazing event that celebrates the cultural diversity of our school community.
Over 27 countries will be represented with their own stalls of crafts, food and music. Visitors will be able to enjoy picanha from Brazil, choripanes from Argentina, arepas from Colombia, ceviche from Peru, paella from Spain, butter chicken from India, the best of Japanese food and many more delicious dishes from around the world.
A host of cultural and musical events make this a celebration like no other. Featuring guest artists and showcasing all the talent of the Greengates community. There will also be face painting, sporting activities, mechanical games and much more.
Visitors are also invited to dress in the colours of their national flag and take part in our traditional Parade of Nations, an experience like no other!
There will be many amazing shows including the Ballet Folklorico de Mexico, Brazilian music, Argentinian tango, shows from Indonesia, Spain, South Korea, India and many more.
The biggest event of the year is just around the corner and we know it will be an excellent opportunity to come together as a united community, students, teachers, alumni, staff, families and guests to celebrate a day of togetherness, diversity and joy.
At Greengates, we are committed to creating an environment where every child feels valued and respected. Our school is more than just a place of learning; it is a vibrant community of families, united by the belief that our diversity is a source of strength and something to be celebrated.
As Educators, we are continuously striving to improve practice and one of the most effective ways that we can do this is through collaboration with others in our profession. This October, we had seven teachers visit Greengates from the British School, Rio to observe the teaching and learning in the primary school. The visit came as a result of a recommendation from our accreditation body, the International Curriculum Association (ICA), who have recognised Greengates Primary as a school of best practice.
Last week, our Performing Arts teachers, Victor Lopez (Drama) and Hadiya Morris (Music and Drama), attended a regional Americas course in Panama focused on the Juilliard K-12 Curriculum.
